Dear parents and carers,
Welcome back! I hope you all had a great summer break. It has been wonderful to welcome the children back this week.
As always, they have been remarkable and amazed us in their ability to adapt to the new situation we find ourselves in.
We are so incredibly proud of them.
We look forward to settling further into the Autumn term next week and watching the children progress to the next year group.

Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Wangiel

Arrangements for next week (Week beginning 07.09.20)
As you will be aware, the children spent some time with their previous class teacher during their day in school this week.

This was planned to support the children’s return to school because we were very mindful that they weren’t able to participate in their usual end of year transition activities. We apologise for any confusion this caused with the children’s entrance and exits.

Next week, your child will be starting in their new class with their new teacher so will enter the school through the appropriate gate and their new classroom door. Myself and Mrs Wilson will continue to be on the gates at the start and end of the day, so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Staggered drop off and collection times
Children have been given a specific start and finishing time. Please adhere to the specific times for your children. We appreciate that different times for siblings can be difficult. We will be reviewing our procedures weekly with the aim of narrowing the timings between classes to reduce waiting times. I will keep you informed of any changes through Class Dojo.

Social Distancing
Can I please remind you about the importance of maintaining a 2 metre distance between adults when you are dropping off and collecting the children. Today, Public Health Wales have released the following press release reminding all of us of the importance of keeping ourselves and each other safe.

Chromebook Scheme
Ahead of our return to school, I posted a survey through Class Dojo and our school Facebook page regarding a Chromebook Purchase scheme. Thank you for taking part, the response was very positive so we have decided to go ahead with the scheme. I will be releasing more information next week about the scheme and its costs and also details on how you can sign up to it.

New School Mission Statement
Be kind; Be Ambitious; Be the best you can be!
Prior to school closure in March, we worked with a number of school stakeholders to discuss and update our school mission statement. The result was the above – Be kind; Be Ambitious; Be the best you can be!
We want our children to be kind and respectful to all.
We want our children to be ambitious and understand all of the opportunities their future can hold.
We want our children to be the best they can be; in every way.
We’ll be sending further information and activities out linked to our new mission statement over the course of this half term.

Meet the Teacher Meetings
All class teachers will be holding virtual Meet the Teacher meetings during Week 3 of the Autumn term (Week beginning 14th, September). Dates and times will be communicated via Class Dojo. This will be an opportunity for your child’s new class teacher to discuss class routines and procedures with you and an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
