Active Schools

For the last few months, we have been involved in a project called Active Schools with 2 other Welsh schools, 3 schools in Spain and 3 schools in Greece. The project will last for 3 years and focuses on health and wellbeing and keeping active.
We have been planning the project and are now ready to launch on Friday, 5th March with the introduction of Keep Fit Fridays.
Before we begin the project, we would like to carry out a baseline survey with our families. Please complete the survey at the link below (one per family) by Monday, 1st March:

Thank you in advance for your support!

New Smoking and Vaping Laws on School Grounds

You may be aware that there are new laws being introduced across Wales on 1st March, which build on the smoking ban introduced in 2007. The new laws will cover spaces where children and young people spend their time – such as school grounds and public playgrounds, as well as the outdoor areas of children’s daycare and childminding settings. Hospital grounds will also be part of the new legislation.
This means it is now illegal to smoke or vape anywhere on a school site and could result in a £100 fine. Those looking to quit smoking are encouraged to access Wales’ free NHS support service, Help Me Quit, on 0800 085 2219 or www.helpmequit.wales/ for help and support, including access to free stop smoking medication.

Online Safety

As our children are spending more time at home and in front of a screen, it is more important than ever that we do everything we can to keep them safe online. The guide at the link below is about the popular game Fortnite and gives tips on how it can be used safety:
