Covid-19

As we rapidly approach Christmas, it is important we maintain vigilance in keeping our school community safe from Covid-19. Please do not send your child to school if they are feeling unwell or if they are displaying any of the symptoms of Covid-19 including the wider symptoms (Cough, high temperature, loss of taste or smell, fatigue, muscle/ body aches, headeache, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhoea.) If your child is over 5 years old and is presenting with any of these symptoms, they need to be taken for a PCR test and isolate until they have their result. If the result is negative, please keep your children home until they are fully well to avoid the spread of any other illnesses. We appreciate this is frustrating, especially at this time of year when general colds and flu are doing the rounds but we have to rule out Covid-19 with a PCR test. The situation is frustrating for us too, we don’t want children to miss any more school than is necessary I can assure you, but we must do everything we can to keep our school community safe, especially in the lead up to Christmas.

Early Collections

We have noticed an increase in the number of children being collected early from school over the last few weeks. This is very disruptive for the school and, more importantly, for the children’s learning. The children, especially in Foundation Phase, engage in vital reading activities at the end of the day and an early collection means they are missing out on this precious learning time. Children should only be collected early in emergency situations or for any emergency/ hospital appointments that can’t be arranged out of school hours. Routine optician and dentist appointments should be made for after school hours or during holidays. Thank you for your support

Chromebook Purchase Scheme

Following the success of the chromebook purchase scheme last year, we are looking to run the scheme again this year with delivery and payments starting in March 2022. The scheme offers you the option of purchasing a Chromebook for a fixed monthly payment. (Payment amount will depend on the length of time you choose to pay over). We are opening the scheme to children currently in Years 2 – 5.

Please complete the survey at the link below to express your interest. If we find we have enough interest, further information, including costs, will be shared about the scheme before you need to decide to commit.

FYI – Following this year, we will only be offering the scheme on a bi-annual basis so the next opportunity will be in the academic year 2023-24. NB. Completing this form does not commit you to the scheme. We are merely just gathering expressions of interest.

Online Safety

As you will all be aware, the online world is full of lots of content that is inappropriate for Primary-aged children. This content can be accessed in many different ways including on the internet, on social media, on games and through communication apps . It is important to always supervise your children when they are online and to monitor their online usage. The guide at the link below gives further advice about inappropriate content online and what to do if your child accesses it.
