School News
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
As the days become cooler and the evenings draw in, it is hard to believe that we are already approaching the final two weeks of our first term! Autumn has certainly arrived, with colourful leaves, chilly mornings and lots of opportunities for our children to notice and explore the changing season around them. It has been a busy and exciting term so far, and there is still plenty happening before we reach the end of term.
A Huge Thank You to Our Community
We would like to begin by saying a huge thank you to our wonderful school community for the generous donations of resources, flowers and materials that have been given to school.
During our INSET day last week, staff and volunteers were able to use many of these donations to develop and improve our learning environments. Our classrooms and STEM room areas are developing beautifully, and it was wonderful to welcome the children back and see their excitement as they discovered the changes.
One of the loveliest things this week has been seeing the children making use of their new spaces. In particular, our new reading areas have been a real hit! There is something very special about watching children settle into a cosy space, choose a book and become completely absorbed in their reading. These environments are created with our children in mind, and it is wonderful to see them already being enjoyed and valued. Thank you for helping us to make our school such a welcoming and inspiring place to learn.
Parent Consultations
A gentle reminder that Parent Consultations are taking place next week. We are looking forward to welcoming you and sharing how your child has settled into the year, the progress they are making and their next steps. It will be a lovely opportunity to celebrate their achievements and discuss how we can continue to support them.
Autumn Disco – Thursday 22 October
A reminder that our Autumn Disco takes place on Thursday 22 October, during the final week of term. We are looking forward to an afternoon/evening of music, dancing and fun as we celebrate the end of our first term together! Please check ClassDojo for timings and further information
Thank you for all your continued support,
Kind regards,
Mr Lloyd, Mrs Lloyd and the Derwendeg team.

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
