Sports Days
We are excited for you all to join us for our Sports Days next week. Your child has been allocated a house colour for them to wear. The weather forecast at the moment is mostly dry and sunny. Please ensure the children have sun cream on and a bottle of water and a hat to keep them cool.
Dates and times:
Nursery – Monday, 12th June 10am (Main pavement gate only)
Foundation Phase (Reception, Year 1 and 2) – Monday, 12th June, 1:15pm
Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) – Tuesday, 13th June, 1:15pm
For Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, you can enter through both gates. The field gate will then be locked when the races start to keep the children safe. For anyone arriving late, please enter through the main pavement gate.
At the end of activities, pupils will be taken back to their classroom to collect their belongings and teachers will dismiss them from their usual exit. Please do not take your child from the field. We need to ensure all pupils are safe. Thank you.
Radio Station
We were very excited to have our school radio station installed this week – Radio DPS is now live!
We have a fantastic team of children who will be managing the station and hosting shows.

Existing Injuries
If your child has sustained an injury outside of school, please ensure you inform your child’s teacher. You will be prompted to complete an existing injuries form with the office. All of our school staff are highly trained in child protection procedures and will be alert to children’s injuries so it’s important we are informed as soon as possible of any injury.

Aspirations Visitor – Josh Llewellyn-Jones
As part of our Aspirations value last half term, Key Stage 2 children were lucky enough to have a visit from a motivational speaker called Josh Llewellyn-Jones. Josh is an Ultra Athlete and a Performance Coach and he came in to share his amazing story with us. We were very inspired! Check out his website here.
Thank you to Josh for his time and for sharing his story and wisdom with us.
Residential Trip

Years 5 and 6 have had a few days full of adventures on their residential trip at the Summit Centre. They’ve carried out a range of activities including: canoeing, rock climbing, den building, archery and more.

We are so proud of the resilience they have shown, in taking part in the challenges and being away from home.
They’ve done a brilliant job representing our school.

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
