Children’s Mental Health Week

This week has been children’s mental health week. One in every five children struggles with their mental health so it’s more important than ever that we are aware of the signs and symptoms of mental health concerns and what we can do to help. The website at the link below gives specific advice for parents and carers on supporting your children’s mental health: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/parents-and-carers/

Eisteddfod and World Book Day

For this years’ Eisteddfod home school craft, we are linking with World Book Day and the task is to make a book box, showing a scene from the children’s favourite book. They can be as simple or complex as you like, just have fun together! Boxes should be no bigger than a shoebox and can be brought into school on 28th February. There are example pictures on the school story on Dojo if you need some ideas. Remember – every entry gives the children’s houses 10 points towards the Eisteddfod! (This is for all classes)

The Eisteddfod will be held on Tuesday, 1st March. The children can wear their Welsh clothes to school on this day.
World Book Day is Thursday, 3rd March and the children can dress up as their favourite book character!

Online Safety

As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, it is important that we encourage children to look out for each other and to check in on each other. Technology can be a great way of doing this. The poster below is a great starting point for thinking about ways to take care of our friends:

“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
