School News

PTA
Our PTA work hard all year to plan events for the school community. I would like to thank the PTA for all of their hard work in organising events and to all of you as parents and carers for all of your ongoing support.

Halloween Disco – the next event will be the Halloween Disco due to take place on Tuesday, 22nd October. Please see the poster at the end of this newsletter for more information. A reminder that costumes linked to horror movies are not acceptable for a Primary School Disco. The following characters are deemed as unacceptable: Huggy Wuggy, Chuckie, any character linked to Squid Games, Killer Clowns or any other character linked to a horror film or scary video.

A   reminder  also   that   any   children  on   our   Step  Up   Behaviour Management programme will not be allowed to attend.

Joining the PTA- we are always looking out for new members. Please come along to any meeting, Miss Hayward posts these on Dojo. We welcome new members and love to have a variety of parents/guardians/family members at events.

Easy Fundraising- This is an online platform that can be used for shopping in a really wide variety of stores. For every purchase the school gets a percentage back through Easy Fundraising. This is completely free for anyone to use. We’ve currently got 77 people signed up, can we get to 100 by Christmas? Please click this link to sign up and happy shopping! School Lottery- Tickets for the school lottery start at £1 per week. There is a guaranteed small prize winner every month. The more people sign up- the bigger the monthly prize. There is also a big jackpot up for grabs! We currently have very few members signed up and I’d love to see the prize for our parents increase. If you’d like to purchase any lottery tickets please click here.

School Dinner
Please click this link to order school dinners for your child for next week, week beginning Monday 14th of October.

Please look at the form carefully and choose which dinner option for each day your child would like to order. Your child does not need to have a school dinner every day. Please fill out the form even if your child brings sandwiches from home everyday. You will need to order your child’s dinners by Friday. Ordered meals will be passed to the school kitchen every Monday morning.

Attendance Matters

The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’

School target: 93%
Annual % to date: 93%

Congratulations to most of our classes for surpassing our school target of 93%. It is important all of the children are in school every day to ensure they aren’t missing out on important learning.

Online Safety- Call of Duty
It is always very concerning to hear that some of our children are playing, or watching adults play, Call of Duty. Call of Duty is a very violent game and has an age rating of 18+. If children of Primary School age are allowed to play or watch Call of Duty, this is a safeguarding concern.

Please click here to find out more about the risks of Call of Duty.
