School News
Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to say a huge thank you to all who attended our recent Meet the Teacher meetings. It was such a pleasure to welcome you into school and to speak with so many of you and your children. Hearing about their hopes and dreams for the future was truly amazing and inspiring.
From becoming taller, superheroes, and princesses in Nursery, to aspiring to be actors, dancers, scientists, and footballers further up the school, your children’s imagination and ambition know no bounds! These conversations reminded us just how important it is to nurture every child’s sense of possibility and potential.
This is exactly what our ASPIRE curriculum is all about — helping children to dream big and achieve their goals through learning that is:
Aspirational, Skill-based, Purposeful, In real-life,
Real-life connected, and Engaging.
By learning more about what excites and motivates your children, we can better shape a curriculum that speaks to their interests, supports their skills, and prepares them for the real world in meaningful and engaging ways.
Thank you again for your ongoing support. We look forward to building a fantastic year of learning together!
Kind Regards, Mr J Lloyd, Mrs L Lloyd and the Derwendeg team

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
