Online Safety
We are dealing with an increasing number of online safety issues in school and are becoming seriously concerned about the online safety of our pupils and feel it is essential to remind everyone of the risks that children face when using the internet, social media, and online gaming platforms.

We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that your child is protected from inappropriate content, online dangers, and social media misuse. Many popular apps and games have age restrictions for a reason, and exposure to unsuitable material can have a significant impact on a child’s wellbeing. In particular, we are seeing concerns around:

🔹 Access to age-inappropriate games and content, some of which contain violence, explicit material, or harmful interactions.

🔹 The use of WhatsApp and other social media platforms, where children may be exposed to unmonitored group chats, cyberbullying, and unsuitable discussions.

🔹 The risk of online strangers making contact through games or apps.

To help keep your child safe online, we strongly encourage you to:

✅ Regularly monitor their online activity and the apps they are using.

✅ Ensure they only access age-appropriate games, apps, and websites.

✅ Talk openly about online dangers and encourage them to speak to a trusted adult if something worries them.

✅ Set up parental controls and privacy settings on devices and apps.

✅ Remind them that anything shared online can have lasting consequences. As a school, we are committed to promoting online safety, and we ask that parents/carers work with us to reinforce these important messages at home. Please take the time to check your child’s devices, discuss these concerns, and ensure they are engaging safely and responsibly online.

Attendance Matters

The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
