Harvest Festival
We are going to be hosting our annual Harvest Festival on Monday, 9th October. Please could children bring any donations of food into school by this date. The current urgent requests from the food bank are: UHT milk, pasta sauce, soup, tinned meat/fish, tinned fruit/veg, tea and coffee. Any non-perishable items will be most welcome. Thank you in advance for your support.
Flu Vaccine (Reception to Year 6)
The School Nursing Service will be visiting the school to offer pupils a nasal flu spray vaccine on 16/10/2023.
The consent form can be completed here
Please submit one form per child no later than 48 hours before the above date. Any consent forms submitted after this time may result in your child not receiving their vaccine on the day. Should you have any difficulties accessing the above link, please contact 01633 431685 for further support.
It’s very important to protect your child from flu to make sure they stay as healthy as possible, as flu is likely to circulate this winter. The best flu vaccine for most children is a nasal spray. This is the vaccine that will be given on the day. For information about flu vaccination please visit phw.nhs.wales/fluvaccine.
Reminders
Names on clothes:
We continue to be shocked by the amount of lost property we have in school that doesn’t have a name on it. Please ensure all items of your children’s clothing has their name on, it saves a lot of time and saves you all a lot of money in lost uniform!
Existing Injuries:
A reminder to please inform us of any existing injuries for your child. Our staff are highly trained in safeguarding and child protection procedures and are vigilant in spotting injuries on our children. It helps us greatly if you can inform us of any injuries your children have sustained outside of school.

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’

Online Safety – Social Media Scams
The more we use social media, the more we are at risk of coming across a scam. These can be very risky and it’s important we know how to spot them, and also to teach the children about them. Please click here to access a guide to learn more about how to stay safe from scammers online.
