Transition Days
Year 6 – On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (11th and 12th of July), our Year 6 children will be spending some time in their secondary schools, Lewis Boys and Girls.
Other Year Groups – On Tuesday, 12th July, all of our children will be spending time with their new class teacher. The children will be told on Monday who their new teacher is. The children will come into their current class as normal on Tuesday morning and then move to their new class. The children will stay in their new class for the day and will be collected from their new class. Your child’s current teacher will share the detail of where to collect with you on Monday afternoon.

PDG Access Grant 2022/2023
The scheme for the PDG grant for the 2022/23 academic year began on 1st July 2022 and will end on 30th June 2023.
Get £225 to buy school uniform, equipment, sports kit and kit for activities outside of school for your child. This applies to all compulsory year groups (Reception – Year 11), Looked After Children, and those who are classed as No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).
Learners currently eligible for free school meals can apply for this grant if they are:
- Entering reception, year 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 in primary school in September 2022
- Entering year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 in secondary school in September 2022
The Funding is available to ALL Children looked after (CLA), also known as Looked After Children (LAC) of compulsory school age, irrespective of FSM entitlement. In a change to last year’s application process, please note a claim will need to be submitted.
If you have already purchased the items, you can still apply and receive the funds retrospectively.

Online Safety
This week our Year 6 children launched their Minecraft Project in liaison with Heddlu Bach (Mini Police). Minecraft is a very popular game amongst Primary School aged children and is also a great educational resource.
