Half Terms
A reminder to you all that today is the last day of this first half term as tomorrow is an INSET day for us.

It has been a short half term but certainly a busy one! Thank you to everyone who came to support us at the Estyn parent and carer meeting on Monday, your support is hugely appreciated. Our inspection report will be out in April and we will be able to share the feedback with you all then.

I hope you and your wonderful children have a fantastic half term break, we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 19th February.

Chicken Pox
We’ve currently got a high number of chicken pox cases in the school across 3 classes. Please be vigilant and keep an eye out for any symptoms. Fever and cold symptoms are often the first signs of illness and are followed by the appearance of the typical rash. The rash starts as small pink bumps, often around the neck, ears, back and stomach. If your child is displaying any of these symptoms, please keep them home from school and contact your doctor to confirm the diagnosis.

Children with chickenpox should be excluded from school until scabs are dry; this is usually five to seven days after the appearance of the rash.

If your child is normally healthy, chickenpox is likely to be a relatively mild illness and no specific precautions are necessary.

Symptoms usually develop 10 to 21 days after exposure. The infected person can spread infection for up to three days before the rash appears and until the last pox is crusted and dry.

Your GP will be able to answer any further questions that you might have about chickenpox.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Attendance Matters

The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
