Covid-19 Update
- Children who are displaying symptoms of Covid-19 should not attend school and should be tested. This should be a PCR test at a testing centre. Lateral flow tests are only to be used for asymptomatic individuals.
- We are still restricted in allowing birthday cakes in school. Only individually wrapped items are allowed under our covid-19 risk assessment.
- Face coverings are still required when dropping off and collecting the children.
Absence Messages
Please ensure all absence messages are called to the office and not sent via Dojo message. Dojo messages are not picked up straight away and it’s important we know as soon as possible if a child is due to be absent from school.
Breakfast Club
As you will be aware, breakfast club is due to restart from Monday, 27th September. Registration forms were sent out with the children last week and were due to be returned by tomorrow (Friday, 17th September).
We have met with Local Authority to discuss the safe re-opening of breakfast club and prepare the risk assessment. There will be a number of measures in place to keep the children safe including children from different classes being sat separately to maintain bubbles.
Based on the risk assessment, breakfast club will be open from 8:20am each morning. The pavement gate will be opened just before 8:20am to allow pupils in and will remain open for 10 minutes. The gate will then be closed and unfortunately, any late arrivals will not be able to attend breakfast club for that day.
Morrisons Good to Grow
We have registered to take part in the Good to Grow Morrisons scheme which has been advertised.
It’s Good to Grow is a token collection scheme that allows schools to collect for free gardening equipment to get kids outdoors and growing.
Between 6th September and 24th October 2021 for every £10 spent in store or online at Morrisons customers will automatically receive one
Grow Token to donate to your chosen school.
You’ll need to be a MyMorrisons customer to take part so make sure you download the app and select our school to donate your Grow Tokens to.
Finally, don’t forget to scan your app or MyMorrisons card at checkout every time you shop to receive your Grow Tokens. Once you’ve selected a school, you’ll be able to donate your Grow Tokens to them.
From 24th October, we will be able to redeem the Grow Tokens we’ve collected against a range of growing and gardening equipment for school.
Free School Meals
You are now able to apply for free school meals via the CCBC website 24/7 and the automated service will send you email updates on the progress and result of your application.
Here is the link to access the online form https://www.caerphilly.gov.uk/Services/Schools-and-learning/School-dinners-and-breakfastclubs/Free-school-meals
If you need any help completing the form, please contact the school office and we will try to help.
Online Safety
One of the risks of being online is being lulled into a social media scam. They often look very genuine and can result in loss of personal data. The guide below explains more:
