Prime Energy Drink – Warning
Please click here to see an article about Prime energy drink.
Any energy drink is dangerous for children due to their levels of caffeine.
Please do not allow the children to consume them. Thank you.
PTA Meeting
Please join our next PTA meeting on Thursday, 25th May at 3:30pm to discuss and plan the upcoming Summer Celebration. It was really great to see new parents involved at our last meeting. Any parents/family are welcome to come along to any PTA meeting to be involved with any upcoming events. It is a really fun way to be part of our school community. Mrs O’Connor and Miss Hayward will be on hand with the PTA and we’d love to see new faces.
Sun Safety
As the weather starts to improve (yay!), please ensure the children have the following every day:
- Bottle of drinking water in school to keep hydrated.
- Sun cream applied before school to protect their skin.
- A sun hat (with their name on) in school
Thank you.

Aspirations Visitor
We were lucky to have visitors to come and see us this week as part of our work on our school value of Aspirations.
Some of our children who had expressed an interest in working with animals had a session with Jenny the Veterinary Nurse. She even brought some of her animal friends with her!
We also had an inspirational visit from Dai Flanagan, Head Coach for the Newport Dragons. Dai attended Derwendeg so it was great to welcome him back and to hear his story of how he got to where he is today.

Enrichment
Every Friday afternoon the children take time to explore a range of different activities and sports.
This week a group of children baked some biscuits in our cob oven in the field.
They looked delicious and the children had such a great time.

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
