School News
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
It has been another busy and positive week in school, with lots of exciting learning taking place and opportunities for our pupils to have their voices heard. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Pupil Voice Groups
Our pupil voice groups met this week, once again showing the valuable contribution they make to our school community. They are playing an important role in helping to develop our school, and we are very proud of the enthusiasm, responsibility and ideas they bring to their roles.
Parents’ Evening Reminder
A reminder that Parents’ Evening will be taking place next week. If you have not yet received an appointment time, please let a member of staff know as soon as possible so this can be arranged.
Maths Learning in Action
I have seen some amazing Maths lessons this week, with lots of practical activities and fun learning taking place outdoors. It is a real pleasure to see the children enjoying their learning so much, especially having fun while developing their maths skills.
Show Racism the Red Card
Some children have been encouraged to design posters or complete other activities for the Show Racism the Red Card campaign and enter the competitions that are available. If anyone would like to complete a poster at home, further information can be found on the Show Racism the Red Card website. Entries should be sent to events@theredcardwales.org by February 23rd.
ParentPay
As we look ahead to upcoming school trips and activities, we kindly ask all families to make sure they are signed up to ParentPay. This will help us manage permissions and payments more smoothly. If you need any support setting up your account, please contact the school office — we’re happy to help!
INSET Day Reminder
Please note that next Friday 13th will be a school INSET day. The school will be closed to pupils as staff will be taking part in training.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Mr Lloyd, Mrs Lloyd and the Derwendeg team

Attendance Matters
The United Nation Article 28 states ‘every child has the right to have a primary education’. We are linking our attendance performance to this article.
We want our children to have the best possible education to give them the best chance in life. If your children aren’t in school we can’t give them this opportunity and can’t give them the opportunity to ‘be the best they can be.’
